Icecream Sandwich
We made delicious ice cream sandwiches today! The cookies were a little hard but the ice cream softened them a bit and made them delicious :)

Royal Icing Flowers
These were fun and entertaining to make. They were also a bit of a challenge as the icing kept melting, but they turned out okay.
Star Cookies
We helped make star cookies for the jazz cabaret! We were allowed to eat the burnt ones - they were delicious!
Fondant Cake!
After more than a month of fondant "training" and preparation, we made our fondant cakes. Mine was a "pasture" theme, so I decorated it with daisies and a little dairy cow! Moo!
Fondant Flowers
Amongst the many different fondant flowers we made, my favorites were the daisies. They were fun, and looked really pretty if made properly! The roses were also fun to make.
Cake Pops
Although at first glance cake pops look dainty and innocent, if you attempt to make them, you will realize that they are not as they seem. Cake pops were an absolute hell to make. If the placement of the cake ball was not secured well enough on the stick (which it usually wasn't, as the cake would crumble around the glue-like icing), the entire cake pop would fall off. This usually occurred in the dipping process, as that was when the cake pops would undergo the most movement. Not only was it hell to fish out the cake from the icing, the liquidity of the icing would further crumble the cake, leaving a trail of brown sludge in the once pristine white icing. However, the few cake pops that we managed to successfully make did turn out quite well.
Easter Eggs!
Having ukrainian roots, I very much enjoyed making these traditional ukrainian style easter eggs. Although at first it was hard to get used to using the wax and different dyes, the more I got used to using it the more fun it was. I used light purple, green and blue for my colours (not so traditional). Although I attempted to store it in my fridge, I accidentally dropped it, spewing rotten egg everywhere which was not fun to clean up.
Pulla - Finnish Coffee Bread
Pulla is a very traditional, delicious finnish coffee bread that is fun to make and is delicious. Working and braiding the dough was especially fun. I was nostalgically reminded of my childhood, making similar creations out of play-doh. However, I must admit that pulla is much tastier!

Cherry Pie Cake Stacks
This was a fun project! The cakes were a bit challenging to make as we had to do them in several steps. However, they were very fun to make! The cherry filling was definitely a big hit, and t
he large amount of whip cream helped too!

Black and White Cheescake with Strawberry Coulis
This project was a little bit harder to accomplish, as there were so many steps we had to do for both the crust and the filling. However, it was definitely worth the effort, as it was absolutely delicious! The strawberry coulis just pulled all the flavours together in a wonderful mix of cheesecake, oreo crumble, and strawberries!

Watermelon Bowl
Our watermelon bowl was much more successful than my previous animals..very quick and easy to use, as well as handy!
Cucumber Shark and Apple Bird
After many tedious episodes of garnishing using vegetables and fruits, we decided to try it out for real. It is a lot harder than it looks! My cucumber shark and apple bird look much more dead than alive.
(Failed) Chocolate Truffles
We attempted to make chocolate truffles, but for some weird reason they didn't thicken well and stayed soft and too liquid-y, which made them almost impossible to roll into balls! We only managed to make one before giving up and deciding the rename it as chocolate pudding!
Ginger Chicken Udon Stir Fry
Time to go from sweet to savory! Our next meal was a delicious Ginger Chicken Udon Stir-fry that was delicious, quick to make, and made our breaths smell lovely all day!

Fleecy the Sheep...Cake
It was now the boys' turn to ice a cake, (with our help) and the latter part of the icing project was to make something completely different from the elephant pan. We decided that the pan resembled the shape of a sheep, which is what we decided to do.
Barry the Elephant...Cake
We (me and another student out of the four in our unit) made a beautiful elephant cake using the elephant cake shaped pan that we received in class. We used the star tip to make tiny little icing dots until the entire cake was complete!
